See measurements update as you drag, find library assets faster, and select papers more easily. This week’s updates also make subtraction cutouts more reliable and ensure filled objects stay neatly within their papers.
Improved
Read measurements while dragging
Width, height, and wall length now update live in the sidebar.
The sidebar shows measurements for selected drawing objects. You can monitor these measurements as you adjust, making it easier to get precise results before releasing your pointer.
The relevant measurement fields now follow the in-progress geometry rather than waiting until the drag ends. A field you are actively typing into retains its value so a background update does not interrupt your input.
Fixed
Accurate cutouts with subtraction
Subtracting one shape from another now creates a true cutout, preserving openings as intended.
When you use the Difference operation to remove an inner shape from a larger one, Synaps leaves a visible hole.
Synaps now displays the result as a filled outer shape with a hollow inner space. The selection logic detects this opening instead of considering the empty center as part of the filled object, making editing more intuitive.
Improved
Smarter asset search
Searching the asset library now prioritizes exact name and tag matches, so you’ll see the most relevant results first.
The asset library contains reusable drawing pieces. You no longer have to scroll through loosely related content, close matches appear at the top.
Search results show assets whose name matches exactly first, then exact tag matches, then everything else. This order stays the same as you scroll and more results load.
Fixed
Filled objects respect paper boundaries
Filled shapes now remain within the boundaries of their paper, correcting previous issues where fills could spill outside.
A paper acts as a boundary for the drawing content placed inside it.
Filled shapes now adhere to the boundary on the canvas, fixing issues where the fill extended beyond the paper despite the rest of the object being clipped. This keeps your designs neat and contained within the canvas.
Improved
Select papers from headers
Empty papers no longer capture clicks across their entire area.
A paper can cover a large area of the canvas. You can now select a paper by clicking its header, making it easier to work with other content nearby.
For papers with headers, selection is tied to the header, even before you add other objects.
