I freelance for several clients at once, how does pricing work for me?
You pay for one active editor, you. Clients and collaborators read and comment on viewer links without an editor seat, and you can hand temporary editor access to a collaborator per project, per phase, then take it back when the engagement ends.
Does it run on my own laptop without a workstation?
Yes. Synaps runs in the browser and offloads heavy rendering to our servers when needed. A 2018-era laptop with integrated graphics handles a typical project comfortably, so the hardware budget stays in your pocket.
I have never used a design tool before, is Synaps actually usable for me?
Yes. The onboarding walks you through drawing a single room before you ever touch the rest of the canvas. Most homeowners produce their first usable layout in under thirty minutes. If you can move shapes around in a Notion page, you can use Synaps.
How do I bring in my existing house plan as a starting point?
Take a phone photo or scan of the existing plan, drop it into a new project, and set the scale by clicking two endpoints of a known dimension (the front door is usually a safe reference). From there you can trace walls and add new rooms over the top of the photo.
