Snap to the visible drawing grid, jump to the location of a comment, and see what is using a model's memory. This update also includes several important fixes for copying, pasting, numeric fields, and Safari trackpad zoom.
New
Snap objects to the drawing grid
Place objects on nearby grid intersections when grid snapping is enabled.
The grid provides a regular reference for a drawing. Snapping uses those intersections as placement targets.
Grid snapping now matches the grid’s type, angle, and spacing, and only applies when the grid is visible at your current zoom.
Show the drawing grid, then enable grid snapping from the snapping controls (off by default) for more accurate placement.
New
Monitor and manage a model's memory usage
A new memory panel helps you track large items and unused blocks.
Large models can approach browser memory limits, especially with many imports or reusable objects.
Synaps now warns you as memory runs low and provides tools to identify and remove large or unneeded items and to purge unused blocks. If you reach the limit, adding content pauses until you reduce the model’s size. Once saved, you’ll be prompted to reload before continuing.
Improved
Jump directly to a comment's location
Selecting a comment in the sidebar centers its pin on the drawing.
Comments are attached to specific spots on the canvas.
When you select a comment, the camera now focuses on its pin, and the thread opens beside it, making feedback easier to find and address.
Fixed
Copied images survive deletion of their source page
Authorized image copies stay available even if the original page is deleted.
When you copy an image to another page, the copy can still refer to the original uploaded file.
Synaps now allows the file to remain readable for authorized copies after the original page is deleted.
Fixed
Paste objects from groups at the correct position
Pasting handles an object's missing original parent consistently.
You can copy an individual object from inside a group without copying the group itself.
Synaps now considers that object as the root of the pasted content and converts its position and geometry to match the destination's coordinates. This resolves issues with offset or misplaced geometry when pasting between drawings.
Fixed
Numeric edits reach the drawing
Dragging numeric fields now commits values correctly, and incomplete numbers no longer corrupt hatch settings.
You can modify certain numeric controls either by dragging or by typing. When entering a decimal, the field temporarily shows an incomplete value, like just a decimal point.
Values you set by dragging now apply to the drawing, just like typed values. Hatch patterns also stay visible while you're still typing a decimal.
Fixed
Pinch to zoom with a Safari trackpad
Safari's pinch gesture now uses the canvas zoom behavior.
Trackpad pinch-to-zoom now centers on your working area in Safari.
Pinch-zooming focuses smoothly around your cursor, without jumping or zooming twice.
